Our mission is to provide access to experiences that enrich all people through creative expression, guided by a vision to be the Center of creativity. The Anton Art Center hosts open call exhibitions each year, including the prestigious Michigan Annual, a juried, all-media competition held for Michigan artists.

Content Advisory: The Anton Art Center is a public arts and culture nonprofit organization valuing safety, inclusivity, diversity, equity, and access. Viewers are advised of a variety of content and themes in the exhibition. Your consideration is appreciated in deciding if and how to engage with the content or to disengage, if necessary.

Artwork Submission Notes: We welcome all media to our space, with advance notice required on all site-specific works (electrical, installation, new media, kinetic, or works larger than 50 inches in any direction). We do not accept work that has a strong, harmful, or offensive scent and/or fumes; toxic, radioactive, leaking, or wet components; or any otherwise damaging or hazardous materials deemed unsafe to handle and/or observe within arm's length for our staff and the public. Auditory work must have an accessible volume control. The Anton Art Center reserves the right to final interpretation to these rules at any time.

Community Artist Groups: Local art associations such as the Lakeside Palette Club of St. Clair Shores (LPC), the Mount Clemens Art Association (MCAA), the Shelby Township Fine Art Society (STFAS), the Romeo Guild of Art (RGA), and the Warren Tri-County Fine Arts Association, Inc. (WTCFA), exhibit at the center via community partnership. Exhibitions are held in three galleries: the Main Galleries and the adjoining Boll History Gallery (1st Floor) and the Petitpren Community Gallery (2nd Floor), each with a different focus. We also exhibit art outside the building, adjacent to the center, in the Richard & Jane Manoogian Art Park.
